Beetlejuice - The Musical New York reviews
Expectations met, exceeded, and mind? BLOWN.
I'm what you might call a die hard fan of Beetlejuice. I was 4 when the original movie released, 5 when the cartoon series premiered. I wore out my VHS copies of both from rewatches. I've made four different Lydia/Beetlejuice costumes by hand in my lifetime and own what most might consider and unhealthy amount of black and white stripes in my wardrobe.
My love for the ghost with the most in all incarnations never fades; when the musical opened on Broadway I bought the soundtrack the second it released and played it on repeat until I got every word. Finally getting to see it in person at the Detroit Opera House was an experience I'm never going to forget. The touring cast not only filled those shoes, they overflowed them with their talent and staggeringly excellent performances. Justin and Isabella utterly nailed their roles and brought so much more to the embodiments of these characters. The whole cast was so full of life and joy and energy. This is such a hilarious, impressive, once in a lifetime show, I'm SO glad I got to experience it.
Great show!! not a great building
First time being there for me I’ve never seen Beetlejuice the musical before but I love the movie and decided to get the tickets for me and my bestie for her birthday
The show was awesome I would see it again
But I was diss appointed in the auditorium itself the staff was amazing but the building itself the seating is more level and not slanted like it should be
Me and my friend couldn’t see well because of the people in front of us were tall with big curly hair we had to lean toward the people on the side of us prolly making them uncomfortable being in there space
And there was children behind us kicking our seat
It was not a child friendly show
Fantastic!
I'm a fan of the movie Bettlejuice so naturally I was curious to see what Bettlejuice the Musical was all about. Well, it was just what I needed....and more! The play stays true to the original Tim Burton vision, but the musical creators made it their own! You actually get a more indepth story line and character development with the musical, and I laughed, sang, jumped, and danced in my seat the whole time. From the characters, to the ensemble, to the band, it was all fabulous. If you every get a chance, fan of the movie or not, you will LOVE it! Even the sandworm makes an appearance.
